Updates in Retrospect

With less than 2 months left of my internship at TLSDF, it has been nearly 10 months since I last posted an update. This is, without question, shameful. Despite the change in the tone of my family members' nagging from playful to caustic, or simply resigned silence with regard to my supreme inability keep a blog, I have still been unable to motivate myself to get back on the blog roll.

That will hopefully end now!

Upon reviewing my pictures, which I have uncharacteristically and dutifully organized, I realize that I need a strategy if I'm going to play catch-up. I considered monthly reviews, but to do such, at this point, seems an attempt to pretend I wrote those posts when I should have. In contrast, I've decided to group my "updates in retrospect" by topics such as friends, co-workers, and other-people-I-like, holidays and the parades to celebrate them, wanderings inside Thailand, wanderings outside Thailand, work work work, visitors from home, etc. I hope that in reviewing my life the past 10 months that I may have something more insightful to add to the otherwise general commentary that may have come out of frequent and timely updates, had I composed them.

I'm not going to give an itinerary or table of contents for the posts to come for fear of having to put one of my feet, which usually donning sandals is hardly clean enough, in my mouth at a later date. However, I can promise that the first of these mystery posts will appear by this time next week... hold on to your flip flops!

Until then, enjoy a couple lovely pictures from the ever-photogenic Wat Phra Doi Suthep, Chiang Mai's most iconic temple:
